Anyways, can you define why exactly it isn't pointless? To gamers, of course. I know it has a point to marketing teams and developers, which is to get more people to buy and keep the game instead of selling it off when they get bored of it.

Typically, I'll always choose a female if the character is a caster and a male for any melee character. So in wow, I have a human male warrior, human female paladin (holy, of course), blood elf female mage and tauren male druid.

Its also just come to my realisation that my male characters have professions like skinning and mining, while my female characters have herbalism and high-level cooking...
